Let's ignore the terrible styling for a moment. I mean, canary yellow knit (in some synthetic mix that looks like it would squeak like cheese curds) and python leggings aside, this RACHEL by Rachel Roy take on a Balmain-inspired, boyfriend blazer is pretty great. I really like the chain details and the military cut. I've always loved shoulder pads - even it was a sin to mention them (from 1994 till about 2007).
What would be ideal with this blazer? A slouchy layered white or gray wide neck tank (burnt-cotton), skinny stone wash denim slightly tucked into a suede bootie with an over-sized metallic clutch and an asymmetrical necklace (maybe with lace and black pearls?) hanging from her neck. But who am I to judge?
Now only if Rachel Roy would get past the delusions of not launching another line taking liberties from Marc by Marc Jacobs' moniker.
Chains Blazer retails for about $149 and is available at http://www.rachelroy.com/
