Speaking of Pugh....

Rihanna attends a Gareth Pugh fashion show and is showing off her new look...thoughts?

X

Kylie started her North American tour tonight...and I just cannot wait until October 9th so I can see her myself at the Air Canada Centre.

Here are the freshly leaked pics.

Bonus: Notice the Gareth Pugh headpiece?

Madonna on Letterman

Madonna paid a visit to David Letterman today to promote the release of Celebration, a collection of her hit singles (34 songs and 47 music videos). The interview was cheeky as usual and they chatted about the Bush years, A-Rod and how Madonna's never been to a New York Pizzaria...and in typical Dave fashion, he took her to one.

Here are some of the highlights from the interview:

Pirated

Pirates and eye patches and skinny moustaches and wandering hipsters and magic carpet rides...oh my.

Here's the brand spankin' new video for Ladyhawke's Magic. Buy her album...you owe it to yourself.

Fashion with a Cause

A charity event for American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) held on the sidelines of Milan Fashion Week attracted such fashion luminaries as Donatella Versace, Dean and Dan Caten from Dsquared, Janet Jackson (who also chairs the event), Chanel Iman, Kanye West and Amber Rose.

The event held on Monday past, raised $1.1 million that will go towards HIV/AIDS research.

edit: p.s., this is my 200th post! WooHoo!

When shops close at 5PM on a Sunday, this is how I always feel...

Rodarte S/S 2010

The shoes are killer. Rodarte's shoes are always just...other-worldly. But what I picked up more than anything is the deconstructed and innovative use of garments and textiles. I will always say that Rodarte is a European design house stuck inside the bodies of two California-born women.

I'll post pics of the shoes in a separate entry...but here is the entire S/S 2010 collection.

And the accompanying playlist if anyone is interested:

British Sea Power- Man of Aran
Clark- Primary Balloon Landing
The Gaslamp Killer- Weeping, Waiting, Gnashing of Teeth Forever
Depeche Mode- Personal Jesus (Rodarte Edit)
Health- Die Slow

Who's That Girl?

1982 Madonna is featured inside the pages of the September issue of the Italian edition of Vanity Fair. These rare photographs were taken by photographer Peter Cunningham.

I love 1980s Madonna.

Celebration, her greatest hits commemorative, is out on September 29th 2009 through music retailers everywhere. What's really worth picking up though, is the DVD digi-pack featuring her greatest videos (about 34 of them!)

So Fresh

I needed toothpaste, air freshener and a box of tissues (for my desk at work...as I battle this cold I have). So, naturally, I stopped by the Loblaw's Superstore near work and made a detour through my boo, Joe Fresh.

I saw a pair of red buffalo-plaid heels and um...can you please run-don't walk-to pick them up? $29 CAD! Wear them under a grey boyfriend cut pair of cropped jeans and a slouchy cardigan or with a simple black wool sweater dress for a casual night out. They're kinda Gwen Stefani and completely disposable after a season or two of wear...might I remind you that they are only $29?

The website doesn't have any pictures up and I can't find pics anywhere else...but you won't be disappointed. And if you are, hell, just browse around because they have some great sweaters, outerwear and basics - all well under $89

Matthew Williamson S/S 2010

I love every piece in this collection. It's so Matthew Williamson and yet, a little bit grown up. The fit and cut and craftsmanship are all stunning. The colours? Luminous. The shoes? Superb.

Normally, I hate, nay, loathe cutouts in garments but he has done an excellent job with all the peekaboo cutouts. This collection is of-the-moment yet classic and still true to Williamson.

Anyone else see a Balenciaga influence? Missoni in some of the fabrics? Amazing.
